Brenda has only one goal and that is to reach the next round of the program. She does everything she can to convince the coaches in less than two minutes. The men will easily play for Brenda, but Anouk should not think about welcoming the singer into her team. As the last coach, she turns to her.
“I thought it all sounded very exhausting”, Anouk explains to her choice. “Then you can technically have so much to offer. In terms of technique you think: yes, gosh, she can do that too. And she can, and she can. But it didn’t give me a single ball.”

Anouk presses the singer with her nose to the facts: she went wrong with this audition. She tries to keep herself strong, but the crying is closer to Brenda than the laughter. Annette doesn’t even let her finish. “No, I don’t understand a single fag about it”, she responds fiercely. “You made the wrong choice. That’s a shame, because you have all those techniques. But you don’t have to put all forty in one song.”
Although Annette does not pronounce it, it radiates from all sides that she cannot bear Brenda. She continuously taps her legs impatiently, sighs and rolls her eyes just a little too often. “Gosh, you really talk way too much”, Anouk interrupts her for the umpteenth time. “Thank goodness you’re almost done.”

It’s a good thing that Anouk is present via a video connection, because when Jan Smit takes it up for the singer on stage, something similar to hell breaks loose happens. “Shut up, JAN”, Anouk pulls hard. “It’s just exhausting this. Come on! Girl, make your choice.”
The question is whether it is the air conditioning or Anouk’s icy mood, but the temperature in the studio has now dropped to somewhere below freezing. Jan asks his colleague if she really thinks this program is so terrible, Waylon babbles a bit, Ali walks uncomfortably away from his chair and shouts: “What a great season! Can someone inject some laughing gas in your loft?”
