From the beginning of the game, it was clear that the teams would play similarly. This was also shown in the first half, as no team managed to score more than three goals. The first half ended with a minimal IF Hallby lead (13:14).

“In general, it went hard. Although we knew that this team was running very well and creating many fast / semi-fast attacks and we were preparing for it, already in the first half they successfully used nine such attacks,” Artūrs Kuģis looks back at the first half.

The second half continued in a similar manner. Ten minutes before the end of the game, the difference was minimal – the home team “Vardberg” was driven with only one goal. However, some unsuccessful episodes, and already five minutes before the end of the game, the guests managed to pull out the lead again with a three-goal lead. The team represented by Artūrs Kuģis could not recover it, so the game ended with the result 25:27.

Artūrs Kuģis emphasizes that “Vardberg” lost this game because the team made a lot of technical mistakes, as well as the accuracy was poor: “Our implementation in this game was the worst this season. There were many technical defects – throws past the goal frame, inaccurate passes, as well as thrown balls into the car. “

Artūrs Kuģis repelled a total of 11 out of 37 shots in this game. Of these 37 shots taken, three were seven-meter free throws, of which the Ship managed to repel one.

The next game on Saturday, December 5, “Vardberg” will play again against the handball club “IF Hallby”, but this time away. Artūrs Kuģis points out: “If we manage to successfully return to defense and prevent technical defects, then it is possible to win this team.”

Vardberg currently continues to take the penultimate place in Sweden’s top handball league, winning four of the 13 games played and losing nine.
