Convicted of defrauding a taxi driver from Gandia, after taking him to a hostess club
The events date back to January 2019. A taxi driver was waiting for service at the stop on Avenida del Marqués de Campo when a client requested that he take him to the El Quijote hostess club, in Pedreguer, near Gata de Gorgos .
The taxi driver took the client to the place and he told him to wait for him to take him back to Gandia.
At two in the morning, when the client did not leave, the taxi driver asked the club guard if he was inside.
The security guard replied that there was no one left inside the establishment, so the taxi driver called the number the customer had left him.
The call was answered by another person who did not know who he was asking for, so the taxi driver returned to Gandia and filed a complaint for the non-payment of the service that amounted to 181.40 euros.
In the trial, held in the Court of Instruction No. 1 of Gandia, the client was sentenced as the perpetrator of a crime of fraud to a fine of three months at a rate of 10 euros a day and to compensate the taxi driver with 181.40 euros of the service, in addition to the payment of costs.
The convicted person appealed to the Valencia Court.
The Court of Valencia has dismissed the appeal and confirmed the judgment of Court No. 1 of Gandia and also imposed the costs for the appeal.
