Indonesia uses 2.3 GHz frequency for 5G, this is Qualcomm said

Indonesia will use the 2.3 Ghz frequency for 5G. Even though this frequency is rarely used by many other countries to deploy 4G successor networks, what do you say Qualcomm about this?

Senior Vice President and General Manager, Mobile, Compute, and Infrastructure of Qualcomm Technologies, Alex Katouzian said that his party supports whatever frequency is used, starting from 400 Mhz to 39 Ghz. In terms of 2.3 Ghz support, that’s not a hindrance.

Alex understands about the 2.3 Ghz frequency which is not used by many countries. So there are concerns that the cellphone allocated for 2.3 Ghz will not be used elsewhere.

“However, from Qualcomm’s perspective, we do not see any obstacles at all. In fact, 2.3 GHz is very good in terms of penetration, wavelength and others,” explained Alex during the question and answer side of the 2020 Snapdragon Tech Summit which took place online, Wednesday (12 / 2/2020).

The selection of new residents in the 2.3 GHz frequency band is referred to as part of the Ministry of Communication and Information to support digital transformation in the economic, social and government sectors, because there are still radio frequency blocks which are currently not assigned to users of radio frequency bands.

In addition, the 2.3 GHz frequency auction also aims to increase the capacity of cellular mobile networks, maximize service quality, and accelerate the deployment of ICT infrastructure with fifth generation (5G) technology.
