A month ago, the November 2, left us suddenly, throwing us into despair, that artist of immense talent that he was Gigi Proietti, celebrated and remembered as he deserved by everyone, unfortunately in tears, on the day he was supposed to see the celebrations for his 80th birthday. Since then, Rai has dedicated a large part of the programming of its channels to him: Rai Cultura with “Gigi Proietti’s TV”, Rai History which conveys his beautiful portrait of Fregoli, Raiplay where it is possible to review his most beautiful performances. On the occasion of the anniversary of his death, Rai 1 dedicates him tonight 2 December at 21.25 the program Gigi, what a show.

One month after the death of Gigi Proietti, Rai 1 pays tribute to the great actor, Wednesday 2 December at 21.25, with Gigi, what a show, a smiling and nostalgic celebration in which some traveling companions of his long and amazing career in the entertainment world honor him with a series of testimonies and unpublished stories. Many friends who wanted to leave a testimony of their memories and unforgettable moments lived with Gigi Proietti: Renzo Arbore, Fiorello, Renato Zero, Paolo Bonolis, Neri Marcorè, Corrado Augias, Flavio Insinna, Pierfrancesco Favino, Marco Giallini, Nicola Piovani, Nancy Brilli, Virginia Raffaele… Their story is alternated with some of the most beautiful moments of shows also unpublished, of the last two TV shows they’ve had Gigi Proietti as main protagonist: Battle horses – aired in 2017 by the Verdi Theater in Montecatini – e Matera 2019, the ceremony-event of the Lucanian city as the European Capital of Culture. In some moments of the program will be the scenario Globe Theatre of Villa Borghese in Rome, the “creature” to which Gigi Proietti was very attached, the place where as Artistic Director for the last 17 years he proposed, in an extraordinarily contemporary cultural key, tragedies and comedies of the Elizabethan period, many linked to the masterpieces of William Shakespeare. The authors of the program are Angelo Mellone e Pino Strabioli with Matteo Catalano, Stefano Sarcinelli, Loredana Scaramella and with the friendly advice of Alessandro Fioroni. The direction is by Gian Marco Mori.
