South African press reports said that Al-Ahly club raised the financial offer in order to include Uruguayan winger Gaston Cerneu, the player of the Sundowns team.
According to the South African “Cake Off” newspaper, Al-Ahly club made a new offer estimated at 2.5 million dollars to settle the 29-year-old’s deal.
The newspaper pointed out that Al-Ahly administration had made an earlier offer estimated at one million dollars before the financial compensation was raised.
“Yallakora” had contacted Yogesh Singh, director and contracting officer, to reveal that Nadi had the desire to obtain five million dollars in exchange for the sale of Sereno. (See the details)
The current Al-Ahly coach, Pitso Musimane, is seeking to sign with Cerno, who had previously led him when he was manager of Sundowns.
Cernio is considered one of the most prominent Sundowns players last season, as he scored 13 goals and scored ten crucial goals in all tournaments.
