TRIBUNNEWS.COM – The covid-19 pandemic is making sufferers HIV / AIDS fall into the category of vulnerable groups.
One of the problems faced by sufferers HIV / AIDS, is access to antiretroviral drugs (ARVs) which must be continuously consumed and control to health facilities (health facilities).

Regarding this question, dr. Yudo Irawan, SpKK from the Indonesian Sexually Transmitted Infection Study Group (KSIMSI), explained that from several limited studies, HIV / AIDS actually have the same risk of contracting the corona virus as other people who do not have it HIV / AIDS.
So, people with HIV / AIDS (PLWHA) who are healthy, have no complaints, and adhere to treatment should not be too worried.
“Whether it is HIV or not, the actual risk of contracting Covid-19 is the same,” explained dr. Yudo when answering questions from participants in the Webinar which was held to commemorate World AIDS Day (HAS) 2020 on Monday (31/11/2020).

But keep in mind, research on transmission Covid-19 in patients HIV / AIDS is still ongoing and to date there is no strong enough evidence that PLWHA has a higher risk of being infected with the corona virus.
