The Bloomberg era divides New York

In the race for the Democratic presidential candidacy, Mike Bloomberg relies entirely on the member states of “Super Tuesday”. Meanwhile, in his hometown of New York, residents have mixed memories of their former mayor.

It’s been seven years since Mike Bloomberg’s tenure as Mayor of New York ended, but his legacy is still visible today: there are the mandatory calorie information on the menus of fast food restaurants; the bike lanes that run through the city’s arteries; the letters that hang boldly at the entrance of each restaurant and rate the hygiene standards with A, B or C; the museum commemorating the terrorist attacks of September 11th, which he opened in 2011 after years of dispute.
