Region. As the Lower Saxony Ministry of Culture announced, the four regional state offices for schools and education (RLSB) in Braunschweig, Hanover, Lüneburg and Osnabrück start their work as new subordinate authorities in the business area of the Lower Saxony Ministry of Culture. You are the legal successor to the Lower Saxony state school authority. The Lower Saxony Ministry of Culture is responsible for all central control tasks.
“With this step, the Lower Saxony Ministry of Culture is reducing the organizational structure of the business area from a ‘three-level system’ to a ‘two-level system’. At the same time, we are strengthening personal responsibility on site in order to be able to take account of specific regional needs even better, “said State Secretary in the Lower Saxony Ministry of Education, Gaby Willamowius. In the area of organization and control, important progress had been made and the milestone planning had been met with a precision landing.
New control unit
With Section S in the Lower Saxony Ministry of Education and Culture, a new control unit has been established, through which the state-wide control of the subordinate authorities RLSB and Lower Saxony State Institute for School Quality Development (NLQ) for questions of organization, budget, quality management and business process management takes place. Another central organizational measure has been implemented in early childhood education: Department II of the state youth welfare office (day care facilities and day care for children) has been relocated to the RLSB in Hanover as of today and forms there together with department III of the state youth welfare office (financial aid and support programs of the Child day care) a department for early childhood education.
The directors of the RLSB are also looking forward to a successful process of reorganization and are looking forward to the future tasks in their regions: “May the signs change and our ways separate organizationally, the common commitment for the students in our beautiful state is a task that remains for all of us. We take the experience of togetherness with us. We want to preserve it, advance it and readjust it as RLSB Hannover. We want to maintain tried and tested processes, but are also happy to dare to try new things if our regional characteristics allow or require it, “says Mathias Mierowski, from RLSB Hannover.
Torsten Glaser, RLSB Braunschweig: “As of today, the Regional Office for Schools and Education Braunschweig is the legal successor to the NLSchB as the subordinate and autonomous school authority for the Braunschweig region. Much remains as it was – some will be different. The focus of all tasks of the Braunschweig school authorities continues to be the pupils. A special and trusting cooperation with the schools and seminars is therefore important to the employees. For us, advising and supporting schools is our most important [drei] Tasks. In doing so, we rely on the established and good contacts to the other regional state offices for schools and education in order to implement the state’s requirements identically for schoolchildren in the north and south as well as in the west and east. “
