Bolotnik a little lighter than Michelle before Wednesday ‘s fight The news

London, Dec. 1, LETA. Latvian boxer Ričards Bolotņiks is a little lighter than his opponent Sergei Michel before the fight on Wednesday, it was revealed at the official weigh-in ceremony on Tuesday.

Bolotnik will meet with German Michelle in the final of the ten-round fight in the final round of the Golden Contract tournament organized by MTK Globel in Wakefield on Wednesday. The duel evening will start at 9 pm Latvian time, but Bolotnik and Michel will be the penultimate of the six fights.

The weight of the boxers at the semi-heavy weight must not exceed 79.4 kilograms and both boxers fit into it. Bolotnik weighed 78.93 kilograms on Tuesday afternoon, while his opponent weighed 79.21 kilograms.

After weighing, Bolotnik emphasized that he feels great and is sure that there will be a real fight, because both boxers really want to win.

“Winning this tournament would mean everything to me. It will be a good opportunity to show my coach’s abilities – what he has put in me. The world will learn about Latvian boxing and Latvian coach Dmitry Shiholay. I don’t want an easy fight and I think the final should be the same ten round fight , as I had with Burton, “said Bolotnik.

“I believe I will win tomorrow. As I said in previous interviews, I don’t see a chance for him to win. Maybe he’ll show it tomorrow, maybe not,” Michel said.

At the end of September, Bolotnik won the British Josia Burton by points in the club “Studio 69”, which was attended by the famous heavyweight boxer Tyson Fury. The victory allowed Bolotnik to protect the World Boxing Organization (WBO) European Champion Belt in semi-heavyweight.

In mid-December last year, Bolotnik won the title of WBO European champion in the semi-heavy weight category. The Latvian boxer defeated the Northern Irishman Steven Vord in the first round of the quarterfinals of this tournament.

During his career, 30-year-old Bolotnik won 17 of 23 fights, seven of which ended in a slaughter.

Meanwhile, 32-year-old Michel, who is called a “Bavarian sniper”, has climbed the ring 12 times during his professional career, winning 11 victories, eight of them knocked out.

On September 30, he defeated Britain’s Liam Conroe in the semifinals of the London Hall in London. He sent the opponent three times in a knockout, and the fight was stopped in the fourth round.

Winning the Golden Contract tournament will give the boxer a two-year contract for five fights.
