People with HIV can usually do the same types of exercise as healthy people, such as walking, running, swimming and dancing if possible. It’s just that, before trying a new activity, it’s a good idea to consult a doctor to find out what your limits are.

On the other hand, the body needs extra rest. So, WHO recommends people with HIV can sleep for eight hours each night and should get some rest when you feel tired.

Try not to worry too much and stress as this condition can damage the immune system. Instead, take time to relax with loved ones like family or friends, do things you enjoy like listen to music or read books, be nice to yourself.

It’s best to avoid smoking because it can damage the lungs and many other parts of the body and make it easier for infections to attack the body, as well as unnecessary drugs. What about herbs or traditional medicine?

According to WHO certain traditional medicines can help treat many symptoms of infection. However, before consuming it, people with HIV need to consult a doctor first.

Herbs and spices are known to help stimulate appetite. It’s just that consumption should be in moderation because overuse can actually cause problems and have toxic effects.

Aloe vera, for example, can help with constipation. Then, camomile to aid digestion and cinnamon to treat colds and stimulate appetite.

Apart from that, there is garlic which has antibacterial, antiviral and digestive properties. Ginger helps provide energy, relieves diarrhea, stimulates appetite, overcomes nausea. Meanwhile, lemon is antibacterial and helps digestion.
