A series of facts about the Cipali toll road crash, killing 10 people to family stories of victims

KOMPAS.com- Deadly accident happened in Tol Cipali Km 78 + 500 in Purwakarta Regency on Monday (30/11/2020) in the morning.

As a result of this successive accident, as many as 10 people died.

The dead passengers were a group of residents who were on their way to Central Java.

Initially, an Elf vehicle with police number G 1261 came from the direction of Jakarta to Cirebon.

However, arriving at Km 78 + 500, the elf crashed into the tronton with police number R 1857 GC in front of him.

The trontoon truck stopped suddenly because of an engine failure.

“So the first tronton truck stopped suddenly because of the engine, after that the second tronton truck crashed, after that it was Elf who crashed into it,” said Eddy.

When the accident occurred, the weather was drizzling.

As a result of this collision, 10 people were declared dead. They are the drivers and passengers of the elves.

A total of eight people died at the accident site.

Meanwhile, the other two died while being handled.

“Eight people died at the scene of the crime, two people died in the hospital, 1 was slightly injured and 1 was seriously injured. All of these dead victims came from Elf,” said Eddy.

Of the total death toll, eight of them have been identified.

They are Kiswoyo (47), an Elf driver who is a resident of Pemalang; and Ehwan Setiawan (43), a resident of Pekalongan; as well as the passengers namely Afrizal (45) from Tanah Datar, Vina (25) from Pekalongan, Sumitri (60) from Pemalang, Saepudin (41) from Pekalongan, Sudirjo (46) from Pemalang, and Rasbowibowo (55) from Pekalongan.

Police do research

Following the deadly collision, police launched an investigation to find out the exact cause of the accident.

The police have done a scene of things using Traffic Accident Analysis (TAA).

The police also asked a number of witnesses for information.

“Later the analysis will be synchronized with witness testimony, including the victim from minor injuries, after which we get a conclusion about the cause of the accident,” said Eddy.

Sumitri’s daughter, Waryani, felt deep sorrow because her mother died in the incident.

That day, at around 06.00 WIB, Waryani received news that his mother had died in an accident.

He immediately came from Jakarta to the Abdul Radjak Purwakarta Hospital.

“Got information, he said, the mother had an accident. Then, I tried to call and yes the mother was taken to Abdul Radjak Hospital. I immediately came from Jakarta to here,” he said.

Waryani said that when the accident occurred, his mother was on his way home to Pemalang, Central Java after visiting his circumcised grandson.

“Then, back to Central Java again by the Elf bus. Because, if you take a drunk bus you use travel,” said Waryani.

Meanwhile, three other victims besides Sumitri were known to be residents of Kalimade Village, Pekalongan, Central Java.

They are a family whose plan is to return to Pekalongan to attend a year anniversary event for the victim’s father.

“Three people who became victims were named Maulana (31), Vina Mutiara (25), and Maura Adelia Putri (4). They returned home, because they will attend the 1 year event of the death of their father which is planned to be held on Tuesday (1/12/2020) ), “said the village apparatus of Kalimade Abdul Hopir as quoted from the Pantura Tribune.

Currently, the family is still waiting for the arrival of this family’s body.

“For the funeral, it is not yet known when it will be held. Because the family is still conducting deliberations and are still waiting for the arrival of the three bodies,” he said.
