Governor Cuomo expressed concern about what he called “the Thanksgiving effect” and what this may mean for hospitals.
Cuomo anticipates an increase in coronavirus cases during the coming week and fears that hospitals will fill up.
At a press conference, he pointed out that hospitals are: “the front lines.”
He assured that the reason why he emphasizes citizen responsibility is to prevent medical centers from becoming saturated.
He indicated that it is important that COVID patients have the necessary medical equipment and health personnel.
Cuomo recalled that social gatherings and people who have let their guard down are the main cause of the increase in cases.
