NEW JERSEY – Some passengers on a NJ Transit train line had to adjust their schedules starting Monday due to repairs after a derailment last week.
Trains on the North Jersey Coast Line were operating on a modified schedule during the week, said NJ Transit, which also made minor adjustments to the Northeast Corridor train schedules.
Coast Line and Northeast Corridor riders can experience delays of up to 15 minutes, NJ Transit said.
The buses accepted train tickets.
“Crews have been working around the clock to make the necessary repairs to the tracks to restore full service,” the railroad said in a statement.
Eight cars of a commuter train bound for New York City derailed early Tuesday in Perth Amboy. The cars remained upright and no one was injured.
The cause of the derailment is being investigated.
