Most of us have probably felt the fear flare up as we press “send” and only a second too late realize that the email does not have the right addressee.
But very few people experience that an incorrectly sent email ends up with the Prime Minister and all parliamentary representatives at the same time. The exception is the Storting’s youngest representative Freddy André Øvstegård.
– I frantically searched for the attack button, says a laughing and slightly embarrassed SV representative to Dagbladet.
–
He even posted about the mistake on Instagram, where he posted a picture that quite precisely summarizes what the 25-year-old felt and thought when the mistake was a fact.
– Important matter
For Øvstegård, it helps that the case was important and that he fully supports the message in the email.
“We in SV completely agree and do what we can to keep the pressure up here,” wrote the SV representative from Sarpsborg in the email that went astray.
The inquiry he was to answer came from a private person who is involved in the case to Mustafa Hasan. The 18-year-old will be sent out of the country, despite the fact that he has lived in Norway since he was six years old.
The reason for Hasan being sent out of Norway is that the mother stated incorrect nationality when they came to Norway from Jordan in 2008.
– I fully stand for what I wrote, but it hurts right into the margin when you realize that you have printed incorrectly, he says.
Got old
Øvstegård became aware of the mistake when the autoresponder from the Prime Minister’s email account fell into his inbox on Monday morning. Others have taken the time to tease him a little.
– There have been some funny comments afterwards, yes, says Øvstegård.
– You are a daily member of the Control and Constitution Committee. It will probably be a matter of control and consultation now?
– He he, no not yet at least.
– But you are the youngest of all parliamentary representatives with your 25 years. Is it not embarrassing to demonstrate such a lack of technical insight?
– At least it shows how fast the maturity occurs. I feel a little old now, says a laughing Øvstegård.
