“Salaspils” and “Jēkabpils Lūši” met twice during the four days. In the 2nd round match postponed on November 25, “Lūši” already won the five-goal lead in the first half, winning 7: 1 in the end. Dmitrijs Kuzmins, the most productive player of the last season, scored two goals for Jēkabpils.
On Saturday in Jēkabpils the predominance of “Lūšu” was even more impressive. Yuri Halimons, who passed from FC “Lokomotiv” in the first half, scored four of his team’s eight goals. After the break, Rolands Putāns passed the hat trick. “Jēkabpils Lūši” won three victories in November, which allows to rise to the 2nd place in the tournament table.
The leading position is maintained by FC “Petrow” / “Jelgava” unit, which will play the 9th round match later.
“Nikars” and “Rēzekne” met in Riga on Saturday. The Latgale team could not be helped by several leaders, including two foreign players. Already in the 1st minute of the match, the Rigans, thanks to the goal of Dmitry Zabarovsky, took the lead until the end of the match. Ants Petrovs scored two goals for “Nikara” with two successful shots for Zabarovskis and Sergejs Oļeškovs, but for “Rēzekne”.
Now the Premier League championship is going on a two-week national team break. On December 8, the Latvian national team will meet with one of the strongest national teams in Spain.
