“Remember that name”
Israel never comments on attacks associated with it. Two years ago, the scholar was mentioned by name by Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu in a television presentation on the Iranian nuclear program: “Fakhrizadeh, remember that name.”
In addition to being one of the country’s foremost nuclear scientists, Fakhrizadeh was also a senior officer in Iran’s Revolutionary Guards. He worked at a research institute of the Defense Ministry and previously at a university of the Guard.
Israel and the US have long accused Iran of working on the development of nuclear weapons. Tehran states that it does not want nuclear weapons, but it does want nuclear energy.
