After five wins in a row, Slavia’s footballers stumbled, quite unexpectedly. In the match of the 9th round of Fortuna: Leagues, they drew at home with Zbrojovka Brno 1: 1 and their lead at the top of the table was reduced to two points.
Pražany sent Abdallah Sima into the lead in the 68th minute, but in the 88th minute another substitute Jakub Šural equalized. The reigning champions lost points for the second time in the league season and, as with Pardubice, it was again with the newcomer to the competition.
The red and whites lead the table only two points ahead of the second Sparta, on whose field they will present themselves in the derby in a week. At the same time, the Slavists were unable to win the Thursday match of the European League with Beer Ševa. The Brno rookie did not lose three laps in a row and has a one-point lead over the last Příbram.
Compared to Thursday’s winning match of the European League in Nice, the coach of Slavia Trpišovský made seven changes in the basic line-up and for the first time from the beginning he deployed only seventeen-year-old Jurásek.
The guests competed against the big favorite boldly and unexpectedly had the first goal chance. After Oscar’s mistake, Fousek got into a break, pushed himself in front of Kolář and hit the stick.
As expected, the home team held the ball much more, but they had a hard time getting into chances in the first half. On the contrary, in the 20th minute, the people of Brno threatened again, after Karafiát’s mistake he fired from the lime border a short distance next to Sedlák. The Slavists had the opening goal chance only in the 26th minute, when Jurásek stretched in front of the goal, but did not lose Floder.
Trpišovský took turns three times at half-time and sent Holeš, Olayinka and Masopust to the lawn. However, the favorite managed to open the score only shortly after the arrival of another fresh player, Simy. In the 65th minute, after his pass, Olayinka, who hit Floder up close, still failed to make his mark.
Three minutes later, Sima sent Slavia into the lead, extending his head into the net from Masopust. Nineteen-year-old Senegalese scored in the fourth of the last five competitive matches.
Then he could raise Musa twice. In the 72nd minute, he sent the ball along Floder right next to and then tricked the visiting goalkeeper. The Slavists seemed to control the lead in peace, but they did not manage the conclusion. Kolář still intervened against Štepanovský, but from the next corner after Dreks’ extension he already leveled Šural on the back pole. He scored his first league goal in his career.
