Introduces social closure in Moss – VG

– It is with great seriousness I have to tell all the mossers that we are also now making a social shutdown. We know that the measures we represent now can have major and serious consequences for several of you, says mayor Hanne Tollerud (Labor) in Moss municipality.

Moss has had a rising trend in infection in the last week. When the infection figures on Friday and Saturday came, it was decided to introduce new measures in regulatory form.

– We see that the national and local measures have not been sufficient to get rid of the infection, says the mayor.

– There are constantly cases of infection with an unknown source, she continues.

The following measures will be introduced from the night until Tuesday 1 December and last until 14 December:

• All indoor events are prohibited, except for funerals and burials, weddings, baptisms and similar rituals under certain conditions.
• Worship services and common prayer cannot be performed.
• Closes public places and businesses where culture, entertainment or leisure activities take place indoors.
• More than 10 people will be banned from private gatherings in homes, gardens and cottages, and everyone will be able to keep a distance of 1 meter.
• Pouring stops are introduced.
• Gyms will remain open, but group activities can not be carried out.
• Mandatory for bandages in taxis for passengers.

High proportion with unknown source of infection

Municipal chief physician Kristian Krogshus expresses concern about the large proportion of infected people in Moss with an unknown source of infection.

– The proportion with an unknown source of infection has in recent weeks been about 20 percent. That is a disturbingly high number, he says.

He says this shows that the national and local measures that were introduced from earlier, were not sufficient.

– The average age of those infected is increasing, and shows that the infection is no longer limited to certain age groups and certain environments. It spreads to all age groups and environments, he says.

– Feel free to bring out some extra Christmas lights. It is allowed to enjoy a little extra food or candy now, Tollerud encourages.
