Delivery delivery is record-breaking. And on the edge

“Every day we have a new record, every day we operate literally on the edge of capacity. But at the same time we manage to drive on time and we are fully supplied. So it is true that whoever wants to buy on the Basket will buy it and we will further increase the capacity. At the same time, Christmas shopping is already starting for us. We have already launched a purely Christmas offer, which further raises the already high interest. This Christmas, we expect to break another of the records, “said Tomáš Jeřábek, director of Košík.cz, to Práva.

A regulation restricting purchases in brick-and-mortar stores has brought many new customers to online shopping who would probably not have chosen otherwise.

“People who have not had much experience shopping online have also started to buy food online, and the number of shipments with supplies is currently rising by about a third every week. We expect up to tens of thousands of new households every week to shop online throughout the Czech Republic, “described the head of the Košík.cz company.

They are building new warehouses

Its competitor, Rohlik.cz, even started building new warehouses to meet customer interest. “During the spring pandemic, the demand for online food purchases in our country increased so much that we doubled in terms of the number of clients served. There was a slight decline during the summer, but during October, customer interest increased again. We therefore opened a second warehouse for Prague, increasing our capacity for the capital and adjacent regions by 50 percent. And we are able to satisfy customer demand without restriction, with delivery within two hours of ordering. At the same time, we are moving the warehouse in Brno to larger premises, “said Zdeněk Svoboda Kuhnová, a spokeswoman for Rohliku.cz, to the editorial board.

From Tuesday, they will also bring the order to people in other places in the Czech Republic. “We are also adding new locations where we import purchases for our customers: Teplice, Ústí nad Labem, Bílina, Kolín, Nymburk, Poděbrady, Kutná Hora. And Rakovník has also been included for the second week in a row, ”the spokeswoman added, adding that the frequency of regular purchases of fresh and durable assortment, not supply purchases, had increased.

The Tesco chain with its own purchase distribution on the iTesco website also records a constant increase in orders.

“Already in the spring, during the first wave of the pandemic, the number of online shopping orders increased by 50 percent. Now another tens of percent are being added, we are increasing our capacities and we are able to handle the ever-growing interest. The most common is, say, a family purchase of 80 items, mainly heavy goods and fresh goods worth over two thousand crowns, “said Václav Koukolíček, a spokesman for Tesco ČR.
