The number of patients with covid-19 in Belgian hospitals has fallen to less than 4,000. This is evident from the preliminary figures on the dashboard of the Sciensano health institute on Sunday morning. Of the 3,933 sick people, 967 are still in intensive care.

Over the past seven days, an average of 239 people were admitted to hospital every day. That is a decrease of 24 percent compared to the week before. On Saturday there were 211 admissions, although that figure may still be slightly adjusted. This brings us back to the level of mid-October, when the curve evolved strongly upward.
The other indicators also indicate that the epidemic in Belgium is currently losing strength. For example, from 19 to 25 November, the last day for which full figures are available, an average of 2,483.9 infections with the corona virus were registered daily. That is a decrease of 42 percent. 574,448 infections have been diagnosed in Belgium since the start of the epidemic.
In the same week through November 25, an average of 141 people died every day, a decrease of 19.2 percent. 16,461 people have now died after being infected.
The positivity ratio has fallen to 10.9 percent. This means that on average, only 10.9 more infections are measured for 100 tests.
