Amr Al-Soulia, Al-Ahly player, confirmed that the current generation of the football team inside the Red Castle needed to achieve the African Champions League after losing two previous times to Tunisia’s Esperance and Moroccan Wydad.
In statements to Ontime Sports, Al-Soliya said that Al-Ahly faced many difficulties from the spread of Corona and the injury of a number of players throughout the season.
He added: “I cried 3 times, the first was after losing the championship to Wydad and the second was against Tunisia’s Esperance, but the last one passed after winning the championship at the expense of Zamalek.
He continued: “I spoke with my teammates and told them I do not want to cry again because of the loss, and it is important to see the effort of years past achieved in the end with the coronation.”
He pointed out that the coach of the team Mosimane has a philosophy that has helped the team since he took over the task, as he is a man who focuses on playing the ball, and he faced him more than once and was happy with his decision to train his team.
He explained that the most difficult moment he faced was when he lost the final of the tournament to Esperance, after the tournament was very close, and then the same feeling was repeated when the team lost five to the South African Sundowns.
He concluded: “The ball sometimes gives you an opportunity to return and regain yourself again, and this is what happened. We beat Wydad back and forth and achieved a positive result against Sundowns and we were able to regain the African title in the end.”
