What was to be expected and to be feared has also been decided: there will be hardly any relaxation for Christmas and new. The Consultation Committee only made room for more contact for singles. They may not invite two hug contacts, but invite two people at the same time.

On December 24 or 25 (not both), single people can celebrate Christmas with three. This makes them the only category that will receive a slight relaxation of the social corona measures. Because otherwise it will be an end-of-year period that will be one like never before for many. Couples and families should not allow more than one cuddle contact in the house.
Singles may let two people in. Still, they must be careful to apply the new rule correctly. Even before the press conference began, it was mistakenly leaked that single people would get two cuddly contacts at Christmas. That turns out to be wrong.
What has then been decided? A single person was always allowed to invite one close contact and one extra contact (at a safe distance) to his or her home. But normally that is not allowed at the same time: you have to choose between your cuddly contact or your ‘normal’ contact. On Christmas Eve or on Christmas Day, singles now get an exception: then both contacts can enter together. Not on both evenings, but on one of the two. The ‘normal’ contact must still remain at a safe distance of five feet, even after a few glasses of champagne. Sharing desserts is therefore only possible with the cuddly contact.
This exception does not apply to New Year’s Eve or New Year’s Eve.
