‘North Korea hackers attacked vaccine developer AstraZeneca’ | Abroad

According to Reuters, the hackers pretended to be recruiters on LinkedIn and WhatsApp and approached employees of the pharmaceutical company. They offered fake jobs to people working on the vaccine, among others.

Subsequently, documents were sent, some from a Russian email address, which were supposed to represent job descriptions but in fact the hackers had to access the employees’ computers through the attachments. As it looks now, the cyber attack has failed.

AstraZeneca declined to comment on the matter, Oxford University, with whom the company works with, did: “We are working closely with the National Cyber ​​Security Center to ensure that our investigations into corona are protected as well as possible . ”
