In Heidelberg and Mainz, a particularly large number of students are doing their Abitur: a good 55 percent of students acquire a university entrance qualification. For many parents, this is an important criterion, given that many wish their children to be able to study one day. Potsdam is even better with 59.1 percent, and in Jena (55), Münster (52.9) and Hamburg (52.8) a large number of students attend school until they graduate. Salzgitter brings up the rear: only one in five school leavers (19.2 percent) does their Abitur here. In Offenbach am Main (26.3), Fürth (29.2) and Heilbronn (29.3), too, comparatively few students achieve higher education entrance qualifications.
