“Latvijas balzams” has launched “Rīgas Melno Balsam” for Christmas with chocolate and mint flavor

The producer of alcoholic beverages JSC “Latvijas balzams” has launched “Rīgas Melno Balzamu” for Christmas with chocolate and mint flavor, the company’s representatives informed.

As a herbal infusion, “Riga Black Balsam” represents the oldest beverage category in the world. In addition, the way we consume this drink has changed over time – from enjoying a measure with coffee or in pure form to countless cocktail variations nowadays, ”says Māris Kalniņš, Global Brand Director of Rīgas Melnais Balzams. The drink will be available in limited quantities.

The company was also informed that the strength of the drink in question had been reduced to 30%, similar to blackcurrant and cherry balm. The respective “Rīgas Melnais Balzams” has a sweet taste and is a addition to classic and hot cocktails.

The new “Rīgas Melno Balzamu” with chocolate and mint flavor is produced by “Latvijas balzams”, while it will enter the market with the help of the largest Latvian beverage distributor “Amber Distribution Latvia”. Initially, the new drinks will be available in the network of “Latvijas balzams veikals” in Latvia and gradually – also in other retail chains.

The company reminded that “Rīgas Melnais Balzams” is available in more than 30 countries, including the launch of the brand in the United Kingdom in 2018 and this year in the United States with renewed vigor. Different variations of the drink are available – “Riga Black Balsam Blackcurrant”, “Riga Black Balsam Cherry” and “Riga Black Balsam Espresso”. In May of this year, a version of the “premium” class drink was launched – “Rīgas Melnais Balzams XO”, which has been supplemented with French brandy.

Recently, JSC “Latvijas balzams” also informed that the company has started to produce a new “Cross Keys Gin” gin with a sea buckthorn taste.

As Maris Kalnins, the global brand director of Cross Keys Gin, pointed out when the company launched news about gin in mid-November, it is the gin category that has grown the fastest in the world in recent years, gaining special popularity for gins of different flavors and colors. “The gin we produce has earned widespread recognition in the Baltic States, Great Britain, Italy, the Netherlands, Australia and elsewhere, so we continue to diversify our assortment of premium gins with Baltic flavors,” said Kalnins.

As reported, the turnover of Latvijas balzams last year reached 78.6 million euros, which is 4.6% more than in 2018, while the company’s profit last year reached 10.05 million euros, which is 7% more than in 2018. .
