Couple from New York encounters secret liquor store
–
A couple in New York State found an ancient stash of liquor in the walls and under the floorboards of their home while renovating. Nick Drummond and Patrick Bakker had already lived in the old bungalow for a year, as they reported on their Instagram channel “Bootleggerbungalow”. Then when they began extensive renovations, they came across the secret whiskey warehouse of the mysterious previous owner of the house. In the video we show how the two came across the old bottles.

House belonged to a mysterious German

The house was built in 1915. The original owner is said to be Adolph Humpfner, an alleged count from Germany. He died suddenly under mysterious circumstances. His whiskey stash, which he had built up in the USA during the prohibition era, was apparently forgotten – until Drummond and Bakker stumbled upon it around 90 years later.

The couple found 66 bottles of the “Old Smuggler Gaelic” brand – but after all these years not all were full. For some, the good drop has evaporated over time. The full bottles are now worth a small fortune. Each bottle is worth around $ 1,000. The two men now want to sell all of them – except for one. Because Drummond and Bakker would like to have a glass of the ancient smuggler’s whiskey for themselves.
