Currently, many hectares have already been developed with data centers. In total, Hollands Kroon wants to fill more than 200 hectares with such ‘boxes’.

Haarlem – Plans for the realization of energy-guzzling mega-data centers in the Kop van Noord-Holland are rattling so badly that the province of Noord-Holland feels compelled to intervene. The municipality of Hollands Kroon, which, to the incomprehension of the province and surrounding municipalities, wants to quadruple the number of hectares that can be built with data centers, is getting a heavy blow from the provincial administration in Haarlem. This is evident from a letter that was sent on Thursday and is in the hands of De Telegraaf.
