The Leiden University Medical Center (LUMC) is investigating the possibilities of infecting healthy people with the corona virus.
The hospital hopes to learn more about the body’s response to this a corona infection, says internist-infectiologist Meta Roestenberg Broadcaster West.

According to her, the trial can begin as soon as funding is secured and an ethics committee has examined the study. “We are making a scenario to see how that research should be done and how we keep the risks as small as possible,” says Roestenberg.
In the study, a group of healthy subjects is given a small dose of the coronavirus administered. “We can learn an awful lot from this. We focus on people between the ages of 18 and 30 who often contract infections, but sometimes do not even notice. ”
