Sergio Aguero was once a son-in-law Diego Maradona in the past. The Manchester City striker also felt sadness over the passing of the Argentine legend.
Diego Maradona died of cardiac arrest on Wednesday (11/25/2020) evening WIB, a few hours before the fourth matchday Champions League held, among them Olympiakos vs Manchester City.
In that match there was also a tribute to Maradona before the match began, and Aguero played in the second half. About an hour after the match, which City won 1-0, Aguero wrote his condolences on his social media.
“We will not forget you. You will always be with us. #TerimaKasihDiego,” wrote Aguero on Twitter.
Sadness Aguero well understood the City manager, Pep Guardiola. The Spanish entrepreneur immediately thought about his player when asked about the news of Maradona’s death.
“The first (I think is) to support Sergio, because Diego is a grandfather to his son,” said Guardiola, quoted by the official UEFA website.
Aguero was once married to Gianinna Maradona, who is the second daughter of Maradona and his ex-wife, Claudia Villafane. The Aguero-Gianinna marriage produced a son who was named Benjamin Aguero Maradona.
The marriage was also approved by Maradona, even the legend was even present at the Manchester City match, just to support Aguero. Unfortunately, the marriage ran aground in 2012.
Maradona also got annoyed with Aguero who divorced his daughter, calling the 32-year-old a coward. Now, Aguero has move on and is in a relationship with a model, Sofia Calzetti.
