World football legend Diego Armando Maradona passed away yesterday, Wednesday, at the age of 60.
A preliminary autopsy report reveals that the Argentine died due to “acute heart failure, in a patient with an enlarged cardiomyopathy, chronic congestive heart failure that generated an acute edema in the lung”, advances the Argentine Press.
The autopsy was performed at the San Fernando morgue after the San Isidro attorney’s office asked the family for authorization to perform the examination. The investigators opened a case of “investigating the causes of death” once the death of the former footballer was confirmed.
The body of football legend Diego Maradona arrived at the Argentine presidential palace in Buenos Aires at the dawn of Thursday, where the funeral will take place, according to images from the sports channels TyC and ESPN.
Hundreds of people waited in line outside the presidential palace to say goodbye to the 1986 world champion, at the public wake that will take place this Thursday, from 6:00 am to 4:00 pm (between 9:00 am and 7:00 pm in Lisbon), said the Argentine presidency.
