Already a month since Valentin Jules opened the doors of his “Local” in the rue Massacre: clothes, accessories and decoration made in France. Chic!
Years that he had matured his project. Valentin Jules, a dynamic thirty-something from the Rouen region, took advantage of his experience in large-scale distribution and then with a major clothing brand to refine his Local. A shop where everything is “from here”. Made in France on the scale of an entire trade. “We have all the know-how in the area,” says the manager. Luck did the rest: thanks to the departure of the former occupant of this pretty commercial hut, the real estate agent contacted the young entrepreneur. A godsend for Valentin Jules, who immediately felt in his place. “This street is the golden triangle,” he smiles. Nestled between the P’tit Souk and the delicatessen on rue Massacre, Le Local has quite naturally set up its window with golden letters. Inside, the furniture – made to measure in Quincampoix – in wood contributes to a chic yet understated atmosphere.
Customers fond of quality clothing can find different brands there, such as Le slip français – Le Local is an official retailer in Rouen – La gentle factory or Le coureur du dimanche. Bags and other kits made from inner tubes from the house of Fantôme complete the outfit. For the home, posters (La majorette à mustache), ceramic tableware (Maison Revol) and even concrete (Paname workshop), or even candles and soaps by Melchior and Balthazar. News obliges, Valentin Jules also has in store fabric masks made by the house Romain Brifault, installed in Morgny-la-Pommeraie.
And Le Local does not intend to stop there! “I would soon like to integrate local designers and other national brands that I love, such as 1083 which manufactures jeans less than 1083 km from where you live”, explains Valentin Jules.
