Trump appeals against Pennsylvania result approval | Abroad

The Trump campaign asked the U.S. appeals court in Philadelphia on Wednesday to schedule a hearing and allow Giuliani to bring forward arguments. The former New York City mayor and former federal prosecutor appeared again before a judge for the first time in nearly three decades on Nov. 17 to plead the case at a hearing. There he made wild allegations of major voter fraud and conspiracy. On Saturday, the team was cleared from a lower court.

Giuliani redoubled his conspiracy claims in a derailed press conference alongside Trump attorney Jenna Ellis and Sidney Powell. The latter was sidetracked by the team on Sunday. As he spoke, some streaks of hair dye seemed to run down the sides of Giuliani’s face, a moment that quickly went viral on the Internet.

A number of Trump allies called on the president to admit his loss after the press conference, in which former New Jersey governor Chris Christie called the campaign’s legal team a “national disgrace.”

But Giuliani still seems to enjoy the president’s confidence. The two planned to appear together in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania on Wednesday to meet with Republican MPs to discuss the allegations of voter fraud.

Trump’s team has asked the federal appeals court in Philadelphia for an emergency order blocking the “effects” of the approval while it wants to proceed with the lawsuit.

Officials confirming Biden’s victory on Tuesday asked that the request be ignored, and was quick to point out that it is unclear what the emergency warrant the campaign is seeking even means.
