Users are complaining about Bluetooth issues with M1 MacBook and Mac Mini models

A number of owners of the new Mac models with the Apple M1-soc are experiencing problems with Bluetooth connectivity. The complaints range from the occasional disconnection to the inability to pair with a device.

Several users with an M1 MacBook Air, M1 MacBook Pro 13-inch, and M1 Mac experience random issues with third-party accessories such as headphones, mice, keyboards, and Apple products including AirPods, Magic Keyboard, and the Magic Mouse. On Reddit the complaints can be found and the Mac Mini owners seem to be the hardest hit for the time being. There is a good reason for this, because in many cases this system relies on a wireless mouse and keyboard.

It is currently unclear whether the problem can be solved with a software update or if it is hardware related. A user who received a replacement system from Apple claims that this did not solve the problem. A Bluetooth dongle is currently the only way to pair Bluetooth devices without any problems.

Apple has not yet responded to complaints with the Mac M1 models.
