The Prosecutor General’s Office of Russia sent a request for legal assistance to the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Poland in the case of the plane crash of Lech Kaczynski in April 2010.

“The reason for this was the new information on the case spread in the Polish media,” the statement said on website departments.
It is noted that, according to journalists from one of the local publications, the deceased President of Poland and his brother, Jaroslaw Kaczynski, spoke by satellite during the flight shortly before the plane crash.
“During this conversation, the recording of which is included in the materials of the Polish criminal case, one of the aspects of the flight was touched upon,” the Prosecutor General’s Office noted.
The department added that due to the fact that this information requires an assessment by the Russian investigating authorities, the Polish side has been requested for a phonogram and a transcript of the telephone conversation.
16 of September Polish prosecutors demanded arrest three air traffic controllers who worked at the Smolensk-Severny airfield on the day of the crash of the Tu-154 Kaczynski.
Russia strongly condemned this decision, Foreign Ministry ruled out the possibility of issuing Russian dispatchers to Poland.
Kaczynski’s plane crashed in 2010 while landing at Smolensk-Severny airport, killing 96 members of the Polish delegation.
