The former head of the Secretariat of Finance and Public Credit (SHCP), Luis Videgaray rejected the accusations made by the defense of Rosario Robles about his alleged participation in the Master swindler.
Through a letter posted on his Twitter account, the also former head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (SRE) indicated that Robles’ desperation to regain his freedom cannot justify the lies.
“I understand how extraordinarily difficult his condition is, including the prospect of facing arrest warrants for very serious crimes. However, despair cannot be a justification for lying and incriminating the innocent. That should not be the way to get their freedom, “he said.

Videgaray Caso’s position was released after Sergio Arturo Ramírez, Rosario Robles’s lawyer, affirmed that the person responsible for the deviations of the Master Scam to allocate them to electoral campaigns of the PRI was the former Secretary of the Treasury and that his client will give details to the General Prosecutor of the Republic (FGR) of how he participated in the millionaire detours.
“It is completely false and therefore lacks any support. Rosario Robles will be able to say many things, but what she will not be able to do is prove lies. I did not have any direct or indirect participation in the so-called Master Scam, much less did I benefit from said alleged mechanism, ”he said.
He indicated that in the past administration he was not a hierarchical superior of Rosario Robles, nor did he have a relationship with her despite being fellow cabinet members and that the subordinates of the former official did not receive instructions from him.
He added that the budget increases assigned to the Secretaries of Social Development (Sedesol) and Agrarian, Territorial and Urban Development (Sedatu) when he headed the SHCP, they were carried out in accordance with the current legal framework.

Yesterday, Robles’ defense reported that his client agreed to testify before the FGR against Videgaray in order to obtain a criterion of opportunity that would allow him to regain his freedom.
He added that he is ready to heed the call of any authority and contribute to the clarification of the authority.
