The government has prepared a big plan for the COVID-19 vaccination process. The target is that the initial implementation will take place in late 2020 or early 2021.
According to Presidential Regulation Number 99 of 2020, the Ministry of Health is in command of the vaccination process. However, the Ministry of BUMN will help to prepare a comprehensive integrated big data information system.
“And according to Perpres 99, I am simply informing you that this initial target is to be vaccinated at the age of 18-59 years. This is the initial target for 67% of the people who will be targets,” said BUMN Minister Erick Thohir in a webinar, Tuesday (11/24/2020).
The vaccination process itself is carried out in two programs, namely government vaccination and independent vaccination. So the two vaccination programs will be interrelated in the big data information system.
The Ministry of BUMN itself is preparing a big data information system for COVID-19 vaccination by assigning PT Telkom Indonesia and PT Bio Farma. Erick is confident that the IT system being built will prioritize the principle of prudence and transparency in the vaccine distribution process.
Telkom Digital Business Director Muhammad Fajrin Rasyid explained that this big data program is to integrate data sources and various applications or systems from various sources. For example, data sources will come from various parties such as BPJS Health, BPJS Employment, Ministry of Health, Dukcapil Kemendagri, as well as TNI and Polri.
“So this information system and 1 data have several objectives. First, we are integrating data from various sources including ministries and institutions which are then used to validate vaccine recipients,” he explained.
This data on vaccine recipients contains all data on vaccine recipients, both government vaccines and independent vaccines. The data can then be accessed by interested parties in the vaccination process, starting from the supply side, the distributor to the vaccination technical implementer.
This big data information system is also to avoid the wrong target of the target vaccine recipients. In addition, it is also to avoid accumulation or stockpiling of vaccines to avoid possible errors in administering the type of vaccine.
Big data is also integrated with other IT systems. As in the future the independent vaccine will be included with a barcode that can be scanned to find out various information about the vaccine. Not only that, vaccine transport vehicles are also connected with information to find out the journey in delivering vaccines.
