Real estate and renewable energy investment company Grinvest has acquired the Olimpia shopping center in Riga and the Unicentrs complex in Valdlauči from the joint venture Laurus of the investment company Partners Group and Northern Horizon Capital. “Laurus” was established to invest in commercial properties in the Baltic region.

This year, the new owner of the shopping center “Olimpia” intends to start an extensive renovation of the shopping center, modernizing retail space and creating a recreation and amusement park.

“Olimpia and its surroundings are facing significant changes. The already funded development projects planned for the next five years will significantly increase the intensity of public life and the flow of people in the area. Renovation of the Olimpia will take place in several stages. The first stage envisages the reconstruction of the second floor, which will be fully completed and open to visitors in the first half of 2021. In order to meet the demand of the adult campus of Riga Technical University and provide new opportunities for the visitors of the shopping center, along with a diverse range of sports, active leisure and family goods stores, the catering area will be expanded and improved here. In turn, in 2022 – 2022, the first floor of the shopping center will be renovated.

Olimpia has a total sales area of ​​approximately 25,000 m2, its largest tenants being “Rimi hypermarket “,” Sports Direct “and” MyFitness “. The total area of ​​the office complex” Unicentrs “is about 10,400 m2, its only long-term tenant is”SEB bank”.

“Grinvest” is a private investment company with Baltic capital, which starts operating in the Latvian market with investments in “Olimpia” and office complex “Unicentrs”. It has been active in Lithuania, investing in more than ten medium-sized commercial properties over the past five years.
