The French are barely allowed on the street during the lockdown and, if they do, they must bring a document stating what time they left and why. A police patrol saw a man in Lannion, Brittany, trying to hide behind a car. They asked why he was out.
The man showed the form where he had filled in the need to leave his home. He wrote that he left at 10:15 pm to beat up a man. He was wearing a stiletto and had apparently been drinking.
The officers fined the man $ 135 because they considered the explanation “not a necessary reason” to ignore the corona restrictions. He was also fined for public drunkenness and is still facing legal problems over his knife.
