Some people discover them sometimes late, but a gift and a passion can revive a professional career in an innovative and no less promising direction. And that is exactly what happened to Vincent Lemore, who landed one fine day in 2016 at Cherbourg with his spouse.
Born in Rouen, the young man worked within the Carrefour group in the port city, then in the North for thirteen years, before being transferred to Eléis in Cherbourg four years ago. Vincent quickly took his marks in the Nord-Cotentin, and exercised his profession of manager in the perfume and dairy products departments.
At the same time, in his free time, the Norman, now 38 years old, sees his love for the furniture restoration.
I had already started in Rouen and then when I arrived in Cherbourg, with the desire to revamp our house, decoration and furniture quickly became a passion.
A passion that has become a profession
The young man is gifted and wants to progress. He takes lessons at Leroy Merlin in Tollevast.
The furniture theme then broadened into the field of lighting and then I learned how to make tube lamps from pallets with a rusty effect.
And what an effect! His family and friends fell in love with his products and gave him the idea of embarking on a craft and commercial activity.
With golden fingers, Vincent quickly acquires know-how, and the idea of going pro is gaining ground. “On March 25, I created my business. To give himself fully to his activity, Vincent resigned from Carrefour last month.
And it is by forging that one becomes a blacksmith. New materials were soon added to the particularly aesthetic pallet lamps.
Today, the bulk of my production focuses on fabric tube lamps, it is French cotton stuck on polyphane.
Tailor-made creations, on demand
Dressed lampshades and candlesticks complete an illustrated range of patterns that show all the taste of the craftsman. “In all, I came up with about fifteen models. And there is something for the whole family. “I offer three sizes: 20 cm for babies and children (15 euros), 40 cm for teenagers (30 euros), and 60 cm for adults (45 euros). “
Since the end of October, orders by phone or on the internet have thwarted the containment trap.
It is also possible to meet the expectations of individuals for specific reasons; for example, two mothers recently asked me for lamps with cats for one and mermaids for the other.
Highlight in the aftermath of this new professional activity and eagerly awaited by Vincent but also by all young and old alike, “the Christmas market is currently still held between December 5 and 26 in the Eléis galleries. “
