Brother Diana has doubts about BBC investigation into interview

“As I told the BBC tonight, I am not at all pleased with how they intend to conduct their research into the Panorama interview with Diana from 25 years ago,” writes Spencer. “Lord Dyson should be free to explore any aspect of this matter from 1995 to the present day as he sees fit.”

Dyson needs to consider whether the steps taken by the BBC and Bashir were appropriate and to what extent those actions influenced Diana’s decision to give an interview. Dyson will have to pass judgment on the authenticity of the bank statements, as well as on alleged payments to members of the royal household.

The interview, in which Diana talked about her marriage crisis, attracted millions of viewers and gave Bashir a glittering career as a journalist.
