The incident dates back to Wednesday. The American man, whose age was not disclosed, would have suffered a heart attack after completing the obstacle course, TBS said. “Although the man was immediately helped by the emergency services who are always present during the recordings, he died a little later,” it says.
Anyone who wants to participate in ‘Wipeout’ will be subjected to a medical examination in advance, the channel reports. “This season, all participants were also tested for the corona virus before the recordings.”
“We are shocked by this loss and express our deepest condolences to the family,” both broadcaster TBS and production house Endemol Shine North America write in a joint statement.
The recordings of the well-known TV show were temporarily halted and will not resume until after Thanksgiving (Thursday, November 26).
