Vogelsberg – Large boxes with screens, with PCs, with access points, switches, cables and plugs pile up on the shelves – even the very first glance into the workshop promises: There is a lot to do here. And Corona has accelerated everything, because in the age of homeschooling it was all about the digital equipment of the schools.
“We were already well positioned there,” commented District Administrator Manfred Görig, “But with the implementation of the digital pact, the whole thing is picking up speed again.” Therefore, the IT department in the Vogelsberg Office for School Education and Care With the current five-person team, additional staff will be added “in order to deal with the additional tasks triggered by the digital pact and other special programs in the state,” as the district administrator emphasizes.
Digitization in schools – “good foundation” thanks to the digital package
Around seven million euros from the digital pact, spread over the next four years, as well as a further allocation of half a million euros “create a good basis so that we can build on what we have achieved,” explains District Administrator Manfred Görig talking to head of office Berthold Habermehl.
That is why one can now concentrate on equipping them with comprehensive WLAN structures and thus creating the basis for modern, digital teaching.
Here, on the one hand, complete new installations of WLAN networks are required, and on the other, existing structures have to be supplemented, explains the head of the office Habermehl.
