Some 2,331,000 people watched the first episode of the new season’s Friday night The Voice of Holland Watched on RTL 4, according to figures from Stichting KijkOnderzoek.
The season premiere of the talent show is thus the most viewed program of the Friday evening. Last year, the first episode of the season drew 1.96 million viewers.
During the so-called blind auditions the jury, consisting of Anouk, Jan Smit, Ali B and Waylon, does not see who is on the podium.
These audition rounds will take up a total of eight episodes, after which the chosen candidates will continue to compete for a record deal, a cash prize and a car. The presentation is in the hands of Chantal Janzen and Martijn Krabbé.
It was the second most viewed program of the Friday NOS News from 8 pm. More than 2 million people tuned in to this. Talk show Beau, broadcast immediately after The Voice of Holland, is in third place with over 1.5 million viewers.
