Dieter Vanthourenhout rides his last cross in Bredene: “Time for a new life” | Cyclocross

Dieter, Michael’s older brother and cousin of Sven Vanthourenhout, is in his last weeks as a professional cyclist. The crosser of Pauwels Sauzen-Bingoal dives into the field for the last time in Bredene on 30/12. Then a new chapter in his life begins.

“Unfortunately I have to stop halfway through the season, but I’ve had a great first part of my life,” Vanthourenhout writes on Twitter.

“I have many great memories and good friends from this adventure. It is time for a new life and new opportunities. Thanks cyclocross.”

Vanthourenhout made his debut at the highest level in 2007. In his career he was mainly the servant of the leaders in his team, first of Niels Albert, later of Kevin Pauwels and Klaas Vantornout. He won a total of 8 crosses, mainly abroad.
