During his speech on Sky TG24, Agostino Miozzo, the coordinator of the Scientific Technical Committee, defended the usefulness of 21 indicators used to determine the degree of emergence present in each region. “If you want a more faded photograph, we decrease the number of pixels of the camera. The 21 indicators that define the epidemiological situation of the regions are important to have precise indications, if we want to reduce them we can do it, but I would like to keep the high standard. It will be a political decision, to be taken in concert with the Istituto Superiore di Sanità ”, he explained. As for the possible introduction of new red areas, Miozzo underlined that it will depend on the situation highlighted tomorrow, Friday 20 November, from the control room.

Speaking of the anti-Covid vaccine, Miozzo explained that Italian experts have been working for months on an effective distribution plan. “When the vaccine will arrive in Italy it will be necessary to have planned everything, from the recipients to the safety of the distribution. Commissioner Arcuri is doing a great job and there is a well-advanced distribution plan. I’d say we’re ready ”. Miozzo then spoke of the hypothesis of making the vaccine mandatory. “It will be necessary to make a convincing operation, because the compulsory process is complicated and must have regulatory steps”. According to the expert, it will be important to guarantee people the absence of particular complications related to vaccination.
Miozzo excludes the possibility of a “free all” Christmas
The coordinator of the CTS pointed out that the next Christmas it will not be like everyone else and will have to be lived in compliance with the restrictions introduced to fight the coronavirus. This year, for example, it will be necessary to give up the traditional dinner with twenty people and even the classic Christmas shopping will have to be rigorous, without “assaults” on the shops. After a summer “free all”, not without consequences, Miozzo categorically excludes a Christmas period lived in the same spirit. “Given that the epidemiological trend is positive, there will probably be the reopening of some traditional dining areas and places. In some parts of the country this could happen as early as 3 December ”, concluded the expert.
