A series of new coaches take up the position, but upper Kreuner and winning coach from season one Walter Grootaers remained unshakable in his swivel chair. The recordings of the ‘blind auditions’ and the ‘knockouts’ took place before the first lockdown, the final was filmed according to the corona rules. Grootaers ended up in the hospital himself in the spring with Covid-19. He is happy to be there again in the second season, because the level of the candidates has only increased, he reminds us. “The success of the previous season has only increased the interest – and therefore the quality – of the participants”, says Grootaers. “This year there were really fantastic talents, both men and women. And also the genres of the songs they came to bring during the ‘blind auditions’ were very diverse. The nice thing about this competition is that the participants only participate for fun. They no longer have burning ambitions, but want to shine one more time. That just creates a very relaxed atmosphere. “
