Rafael Nadal (ATP 2) had to draw on many of his technical and character resources to beat 6-4 4-6 6-2 Stefanos Tsitsipas (6) and gain access to the semifinals of the ATP Finals in London. The Iberian, who qualified as the second of London 2020 Group, on the way to his first title in the tournament that closes the season, he will now challenge in the semifinals Daniil Medvedev (4).
The challenge has developed since the first exchanges at high levels. Despite the good start, Tsitsipas had an empty pass, which culminated in a double fault that gave the Majorcan the decisive break in the first set. In the second fraction, the same script, but with reversed roles: the winner of the last Roland Garros lost his joke on the most beautiful, allowing the Greek to take the match to the third set. There, after a back-and-forth of breaks conquered, it was Nadal who finally took off, closing the game 6 to 2.
