Tichanovskaja after conversation with Rutte: ‘He said he wants to help’

Belarusian opposition leader Svetlana Tikhanovskaya is in the Netherlands. She spoke with Prime Minister Rutte this afternoon and met 100 Belarusians living in the Netherlands.

Tikanovskaya fled Belarus after the controversial presidential elections, followed by ongoing protests. She asked Rutte for more support for the opposition in her protest against the regime of Aleksandr Lukashenko. She hopes that the Netherlands will put more pressure on the president.
