Fire outside the Auser Club gym in via del Fanuccio in Marlia, the next day one of the managers speaks.
“The fire broke out outside the building – specifies one of the managers of the Auserclub, Stefano Bicchi, who together with his father and two sisters, has been running a family business for more than thirty years – fortunately, it only slightly affected the interiors, a part of the changing rooms and then the electrical panel, however, the extent of the damage must always be quantified ”.
From the first checks carried out, it is almost certain that the flames were caused by a short circuit in the electrical system. There is no doubt, however, that the event was a tragic fatality.
The fire burned much of the external equipment and quantifying the true extent of the damage will not be easy.
“It will take days, the equipment that we had outside is now incinerated, there is nothing that can be recovered, these alone will amount to a few thousand euros – Stefano continues – Fortunately, the firefighters intervened promptly, because the damage could be much greater, they asked for reinforcements from different areas and it took half an hour to put out the fire. I called the headquarters at 5:45 pm, they arrived in five minutes and after half an hour the situation was under control”.
“We are waiting for the investigations to end – continues one of the managers – so we will understand how to move to arrange things and put in order, if we need permits, we consider requesting them as soon as possible in order to be ready to reopen. Despite everything, the fact that at this moment the gyms are forced to stay closed, is in a sense to our advantage. So we can carry out the recovery work before the reopening of the business. “
But Stefano Bicchi and his family do not give up even in the face of this new obstacle and thank those who have shown solidarity with him despite the unfortunate moment.
“I was happy to see that many customers of our gym wanted to express their solidarity with usi – Stefano concludes – We at the gym, for our part, we will do our best to be ready again when we are given the opportunity to open up to the public again”.
